On October 9, 2015, we lost our daughter Savannah, to Stillbirth at 34 weeks gestation due to an umbilical cord accident. This unexpected loss devastated our family in more ways than anyone could ever imagine. Our daughters, Ella and Kennedy, were 7 and 4 years old at the time and were impacted just as greatly as we were.

Six months after Savannah’s death, we were fortunate to have found Faith’s Lodge. The four of us spent a weekend there, meeting with other families who had experienced losses similar to ours. This peaceful escape allowed us time to refresh our minds, reflect on our loss, share stories with others, and come together as a family. Faith’s Lodge impacted our family immensely during this difficult time.

Ella and Kennedy decided that they wanted to help the children of the families who visit Faith’s Lodge. They came up with the idea to organize a fundraiser to raise money so they could put together care packages for the siblings who attend the weekend retreats... and “Sibling Wings" was born. All of the money raised is used to create packages for the approximate 100 siblings who travel to the Lodge each year. Each child who comes to the Lodge will be welcomed with a bag full of items like teddy bears, chalk, journals, play doh, and more. Their hope is that this bag will assist the children while they are at the Lodge, by learning about their story, and provide comfort to them as they navigate life without their sibling.
